Leica introduced their new compact with an APS-C CMOS 12.2 megapixel sensor, a fixed 24mm f/2.8 elmarit lens and with an ISO ranging from 100-3200. It has a 2.7″ LCD with 230k resolution.

Having a full range of manual controls this compact camera also competes side by side with Sigma DP2, Panasonic GF-1, Olympus EP-1, Canon G11 and the Panasonic Lx-3. File format of the Leica X-1 uses the DNG format.
